Which are GeoIp working modes?

Disabled

In this mode, the system recognizes the country bound to the user’s IP and assigns it to the user’s session if it does not have previous data for this user. It does not perform any further change in the users’ configurations and it allows the user to change his country in the register form or in the user’s profile.

Strict

In this mode, the system recognizes the country bound to the user’s IP and redirects it to an error 404 page with no exceptions, as long as the user is in a country outside the sales areas, In this case, it is not possible to make a sale in any of these countries, neither the positioning of the store in the search engines of those countries.

Strict - Informative

In this mode, the system recognizes the country bound to the user’s IP and assigns it to the user’s session. The user will not be able to modify his country in any case when registering or indicating a billing or shipping address. If the country from which the user is browsing is not in the sales areas selector, the country selector will be left blank and ending the sale will not be possible. However, browsing in the eCommerce will be possible.

Using this mode, the user can be redirected or a text can be displayed if needed. Both actions are incompatible simultaneously, and redirection will have priority over the informative text. So, to display the text, the redirection URL must be left blank.

• Redirection : If a redirection URL has been set, the system will redirect the user to it, as long as the user is in a country outside the sales areas. If "redirect only first time" is checked with a NO, the system will always redirect the user with no exceptions. Otherwise, the system would only make that redirection in the user’s first attempt to access the eCommerce. In case the user insists, the user would be able to browse the website in conditions detailed above.
• Geo IP warning: If a warning text has been set, and a redirection URL has not been filled in, in the user’s first attempt to access the eCommerce from a country outside the sales areas, an informative text would be displayed. In case the user insists, the user would be able to browse the website in conditions detailed above.

Informative purposes

In this mode, the system recognizes the IP bound to the user’s country and assigns it to the user’s session. If the user is from a country outside the sales areas, this will be able to register and even perform and order. However, the user will not be able to select his country in the shipping direction but will be able to indicate a shipping address inside the sales areas of the eCommerce, with no exception.
