Order status
How can I create a new sub-status?
To organize and manage our eCommerce orders, it is possible to create sub-statuses that fit your business and your working mode better.
Sub-statuses can be created in:
> SETTINGS > Order status
OR
> MAIN > Orders
Right-Click on the status we want create a sub-status, and left-click on new sub-status
Moving an order to a new sub-status will be done in the same way orders are moved from a status to another.
While sub-statuses can be defined completely, main statuses belong to the system, hence they cannot be created or deleted (but they can be edited).
How can I bind an action to a status/sub-status?
Actions are tasks that are executed automatically when an order enters or leaves a state / substate. Each state / sub-state can be associated with one or several actions. For this it is necessary to go to the state and click with the right mouse button and Edit status.
Then, a window will be displayed where we will be able to define the actions, which may be of two kinds:
- Incoming Actions: Action that will be triggered when the action enters this status.
- Outgoing Actions: The defined action will be triggered when the order goes out this status.
To create an action, just click on New Action, in either the incoming or outgoing actions area.
A new window will be displayed where you will be able to choose the different tasks to be done. Once selected, click on Next. In this case, we are going to set that, once an order enters the Incoming status, an email is sent.
In this example, Send email, and in the next window the window asks for the recipient of the email, then click on Next.
In the Recipient’s details, we can select the email template, in this case, Order Confirmation.
In case we want to create our own messages, we have to select the Edit mail types and click on New email template.
Finally, we can assign an internal name to the creation we have added and click on Done.
We can see all the created actions in the main window.
Is it possible to limit the movement between statuses and sub-statuses?
It is possible to limit the statuses/sub-statuses an order can go to from a specific status/sub-status. To do so, the specific status / sub-status must be edited by going to its Limitations section. This tool allows to enable or disable the statuses / sub-statuses an order can go to from the status / sub-status we are editing. To enable a status/sub-status to move an order to another statuses/sub-statuses we must leave the switcher green. Otherwise, the switcher must be left red.
